Tonight Stirling B hosted us for our Division 1 match. The game was quite close. We had white on boards 2,4 & 5. The first game to finish was Peter's game where he can back from a pawn down to draw his game. Next to finish was John who won his game after he gained material early on and duly converted. My game was next to finish where I got to a drawish rook endgame where I had an active rook but I struggled to make a breakthrough but after enough maneuvering I was able to provoke an error and simplify to a won pawn endgame. Andrew finished next and by the time I had finished he had quite an edge on material with a bit of time trouble but was able to queen a pawn to secure the win with 3 min to go. The last game was Colin's where he was very close to draw but Dave managed to win the endgame relying on zugzwang. The full results are as follows:
